BOLIAN | Fabric Types and Manufacturing Methods

Fabric is a flat, soft piece of material made up of small, flexible objects that are interwoven, knotted, and connected.

• Weaving consists of yarns in a crossed relationship.

• Knitting consists of yarns in a knotted relationship.

• Non-woven consists of yarns and fibres in a connected relationship.

The traditional two-way woven textile is woven with two systems of yarns that are perpendicular to each other and interwoven according to a certain pattern. In other words, weft and warp yarns sink and float with a certain regularity, making a textured and patterned fabric surface. This is called fabric weave.

Plain, twill, and satin are common fabric weave.

As one of the leading filter press cloth manufacturers, Bolian filter fabric mainly uses twill weave, which has fewer interlacing points, tight fabrics, and a smooth surface.

Double-layer weave, also known as exterior and interior knotting tissue. Knotting double-layer fabric requires various knotting methods to bond the surfaces of the two layers together, forming a single fabric.

BOLIAN filter press cloths have features of high strength (high warp strength, higher multifilament strength than monofilament strength, polyester multifilament higher than polypropylene multifilament), low elongation, high density, multi-layer, and extensive types.

The surface of double-layer fabric features fine diameter and high-density yarns, making the filtering surface dense and smooth. The interior layer features with coarse-diameter, and low density, increasing the thickness and stiffness of the fabric.
