1. Burning Test Method

Polyester (PET) Filter Cloth:

Polyester easily ignites and burns with black smoke, a yellow flame, an aromatic odour, and hard black-brown ash.

Polypropylene (PP) Filter Cloth:

Polypropylene easily burns but slowly with black smoke, yellow flame at the upper end and blue flame at the lower end, emits petroleum odour, and the ashes are hard round light yellow-brown particles after burning.

2. Water Immersion Method

Polyester (PET) Filter Cloth:

It sinks when immersed in water with fiber density of 1.2-1.37.


Polypropylene (PP) Filter Cloth:

It floats when immersed in water with fiber density of 0.9-0.92
